Newly refurbished, in Taffs Well on the green northern edge of Cardiff: about 20 minutes to Cardiff Central by train, with the Taff Trail, Castell Coch and the Garth on the doorstep. A double bedroom, a second bedroom with a king-size bed, a U-shaped kitchen with a breakfast bar, a corner sofa facing a 50-inch smart TV, and a full-size bath with a rain shower. Sleeps four. West View is a quiet residential street in Taffs Well, the village where Cardiff ends and the Taff valley begins. The apartment has just been refurbished from top to bottom by its owners, and it shows: oak-effect floors, soft neutral tones, new kitchen and bathroom, and the kind of finish that is easy to live in whether you are here for two nights or two months.
The living room is built around a three-seat corner sofa with a chaise, a round coffee table and a rug, facing a 50-inch smart TV with the usual apps. A sliding barn door and a console table keep the space clean and uncluttered.
The U-shaped kitchen is new and properly equipped: a four-ring gas hob, an electric oven, a chimney extractor, a Bosch fridge-freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster, open shelving, and mugs, glasses, crockery and cutlery for six or more. An Indesit washing machine takes care of laundry (washing only — there is no tumble dryer, and no dishwasher). A three-seat breakfast bar under pendant lights is where meals, coffee and laptops happen.
Two bedrooms:
• Bedroom 1 — double bed (IKEA Valevåg mattress) with a white slatted headboard against a taupe panelled feature wall, two bedside tables with lamps, a wardrobe, a mirror, lined curtains and abstract art
• Bedroom 2 — a white king-size bed with storage drawers, an oak chest of drawers and a venetian blind with views out to the valley and the hills
• Bathroom — shower over a full-size bath with a rainfall head and a hand shower, glass screen, white metro tiles, mirror, vanity basin and WC
• Crisp hotel-standard linen and towels, hangers and extra pillows
Gas central heating throughout. Smoke alarm fitted.
We manage the apartment as we manage all our homes: online check-in, a digital guest area with our own guide to Cardiff and the valleys, and a real person at the end of the phone when you need one.
Taffs Well is a village with one foot in the city and one in the countryside. Cardiff Central is about 20 minutes away by train, yet from the window you look at hills. It is the natural base for anyone who wants Cardiff by day and the valleys, the trails and the mountains the rest of the time.
• Taffs Well railway station — in the village, with around six trains an hour into Cardiff: Queen Street from 11 minutes, Cardiff Central about 20
• The Taff Trail — the traffic-free walking and cycling route along the river, south into Cardiff and Bute Park, north to Pontypridd, Merthyr and the Brecon Beacons
• Castell Coch — the fairytale Victorian Gothic castle on the wooded hillside above the village, about half an hour on foot or a few minutes by car
• The Garth (Garth mountain) — the hill made famous by "The Englishman Who Went Up a Hill But Came Down a Mountain", with views across Cardiff and the Bristol Channel
• Fforest Fawr woodland walks and sculpture trail, behind Castell Coch
• Bike Park Wales at Merthyr Tydfil — the UK's leading mountain-bike park, about 30 minutes by car up the A470
• Taffs Well's famous thermal spring — the only one in Wales
• Local shops, pubs and takeaways in the village; larger supermarkets a few minutes' drive away
• Cardiff city centre, Principality Stadium and Cardiff Castle — about 20 minutes by train

Once your booking is confirmed, you will receive a self check-in form. This includes ID verification, credit card details for the security deposit pre-authorisation, and agreement to the house rules and terms. Once everything is completed, your access details will be released automatically.

The whole apartment — two bedrooms, living room, kitchen and bathroom — is exclusively yours for the duration of your stay.
Access is by self check-in via a secure key box. Full check-in instructions, including the access code, are released once the pre-arrival steps in your guest area are completed.
We give our guests complete privacy while remaining within easy reach. A few days before arrival we send everything you need — directions, check-in details and our guide to Cardiff and the valleys — and during your stay we are available through the booking platform, your guest area, phone or email. Our Cardiff operations team is close by should anything need attention in person.
The apartment has been newly refurbished and is being made ready for its first guests. Wi-Fi is included, and there is free on-street parking on North View. Bin details will be confirmed in your guest area before arrival.
